 Challenge yourself Courses in Danish language , culture and civics for adult foreigners.
The tuition is based on the background and qualifications of each individual student and is flexibly organised, so that it is possible to combine the language classes with working hours or tuition programmes elsewhere.
Tests and exams
We offer three different language courses, each of which is divided into 6 levels. All three finish with a state-controlled exam. Exams are held twice a year in Mai/June and in November/December.
Private fee-paying students can enrol the same state-controlled exams ( Prøve I dansk 1, 2, 3 or studieprøven). A fee ( about 1000 - 1300 dkr.) , which covers both oral and written exams has to be paid to the language school before March 10th or September 10th .

“Danish “ at work
We arrange special programmes for firms who have special wishes for their foreign employees. The content and extension of the programme is arranged in cooperation with the firm.
Open learning center
Here students can study on their own with guidance from a teacher. Students can work with:
- Teaching-programmes on the computer
- Pronunciation exercises in the language-laboratory
- Grammar , talking-books, and teaching materials
Students can also:
- Borrow books, tapes, videos and DVD
- Read newspapers, magazines and surf on the internet.
Who ?
- Foreigners with a Danish Personal Registration Number ( cpr number ) living in Aalborg Kommune
- Foreigners living out side Aalborg Kommune. These must apply at their local “ kommune” for permission to study at our school.

When ?
New students can apply all year round and usually a course will be offered within a month after permission from Aalborg Kommune or the local kommune.
We offer classes in the morning , in the afternoon or in the evening.
Enrolement
Students who live in Aalborg Kommune must contact “ Beskæftigelsesafdelingen “, Kastetvej 26 , tel.. 99315801. Students who live outside Aalborg Kommune must contact their local kommune.
Before you can start, you will need an interview and a placement-test with a guidance teacher.
Price
The tuition at the language school is paid by the kommune in which the student lives provided he/she has a Personal Registration Number (cpr number). Citizens without a cpr-number can pay their own tuition-fees. Please contact us for further information.
From September 1. 2008 Aalborg kommune has introduced entrance-fee to Danish lessons at Sprogcenter Aalborg and other schools that offer Danish lessons to which students are referred by Aalborg kommune. Learn more about the entrance fee here..
Where?
Our address is Kastetvej 26, which is near the center of Aalborg. We have two entrances. New students must use the entrance at the green spot for enrolment interview. Administration and classrooms are reached through the (red spot) entrance, which is close by the railway tracks on “Strandvejen”.
Sprogcenter Aalborg is owned by Aalborg Kommune’s social og sundhedsforvaltning ( Department of health and social welfare). We have an average of 700 students from more than 40 nations.
In addition to the ordinary language courses we have a number of different jobs teaching Danish requested by Aalborg Kommune , other municipalities and private firms.
The school has about 45 employees many of whom have more than 20 years experience within this field and have contributed to the professional development of teaching Danish as a foreign language.
